  • Design and implement the software for embedded devices and systems, from creation to production and deployment.
  • Develop and debug procedures/tools for production test automation.
  • Prepare engineering documentation, including product specifications, detailed design reports, test protocols, and technical procedures.
  • Play a crucial role in product scoping and roadmap / architecture discussions.
  • Provide technical support and guidance for post release production systems.
  • Based on customers’ identified needs, effectively consider feedback and flexibility from the hardware to adapt to market needs.
  • Uses technical acumen to discuss application of Heila products in the context of customer’s use cases.
  • Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company excel.
  • Foster positive and effective business relationships at all levels.


  • 5+ years of experience with embedded development.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) degree in EE, CE, CS or equivalent.
  • Experience working with C/C++.
  • Experience working with both Linux and real-time embedded systems.
  • Experience with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet, etc.
  • Experience testing and debugging new PCB products, datasheets and circuit level schematics.
  • Experience with ARM architectures and developing for heterogeneous architectures.
  • Understanding of FCC, IEC, UL, CSA, and CE testing and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with wireless protocols such as WiFi, Bluetooth Low Energy, and WiFi HaLow.
  • Interest in learning about control and optimization systems used in DER projects.
  • Interest in learning about DER equipment and applications – including solar arrays, batteries, generators, fuel cells, among other.
  • Interest in learning about resilience and economic use cases in DER projects.
